Vintage Bow Tie Hand Stitched Quilt

Bow Tie Pattern, approx. 1930’s, hand made in Texas using cotton feed-sack fabrics.  In the 1930s, cotton feed-sacks used to hold items like animal feed, flour, and sugar, and were often repurposed for quilting by farmers’ wives and others. These sacks were affordable and readily available.  They were made into clothing, quilts, and other household items. 

This quilt is machine stitched and hand quilted.  Very clean on the top, with the only obvious mark on the reverse, shown in photograph. Looks like it could be ink.
