Antique Quilt Lady of the Lake
Lady of the Lake/Ocean Waves cotton quilt, made from cotton feed sacks, and early 1900’s mixed cotton. In the 1930s, cotton feed sacks were used to hold items like animal feed, flour, and sugar. Very popular for the quilting wives of the farmers. These sacks were readily available and affordable. Also recycled into clothing, and other household items.
Some marks, including what looks like rust.
Patchwork is made up of hundreds of small triangles, very brightly coloured. Hand pieced and hand quilted in Texas and has been handed down through a family.
Please check the photos for the beautiful work, and the marks and areas ready for patching or restitching.
This quilt is well used, and will look so much brighter with a wash.
